Karl and PCustom literally took my visions of a new product and made them come to life! Sure, it’s a catchy slogan—but it also happens to be true. I’d been to 4 or 5 local machine shops, trying to find someone who’d make a short run (5-10 units) of 4 fabricated parts, and refine 3 foundry models I’d had made elsewhere.  P Custom was almost my last resort.

Using only “napkin drawings” raw pencil sketches, and my poor powers of description, Karl ‘knocked the ball outa the park’ on each item !!  He lengthened a cast water tray for my gemcutter. >He took excess weight out of an irrigating tank.  He machined a wider blade slot in my saw table, countersunk drain holes left ugly from the foundry, and created ‘spot-on’ motor mounts and custom brass blade nuts w reverse threads to within .003 tolerances!  Created prototypes, essentially, without the benefit of CAD or CNC.   And all on deadline, and within budget !!

I want to stress that Karl acted as far more than a machinist in all this—he often ‘wore the hat’ of a design engineer, suggesting stronger, lighter construction, or parts I’d never considered, for ease of assembling my product,  and servicing it. When you hire these guys, it’s like adding a machine shop to your business—without sick days or expense accounts! My debt to these folks is immeasurable.  Without PCustom, I’d still be at my kitchen table, juggling ideas… and now, thanks to them, I have a popular nuts-and-bolts product, and a successful business !!
